David Cameron’s visit to Walsall Wood

We were thrilled yesterday to welcome the Conservative Party Leader, David Cameron MP, to Walsall Wood. He came to visit one of our primary schools - Walsall Wood JMI - which is the most improving school in the Borough. It was a lovely visit and David spent quality time with the children talking to them about being an MP and the things that matter to them at school.

There is a good write up in the Birmingham Mail here: http://www.birminghammail.net/news/top-stories/2008/04/08/david-cameron-visits-midland-school-97319-20734183/ and you can watch part of it on the Express and Star website here: http://www.expressandstar.com/2008/04/08/conservative-leader-david-cameron-praises-school/

Afterwards David met with Walsall Conservative councillors and candidates as pictured below.

How refreshing to see politicians taking an interest in our area - such a shame he couldn’t stay to look around.

Please could you send details of when Mr. Cameron will be visiting some of the less successful schools in the area, as it would be a real shame if he were to go away with the wrong impression of our authority. Sadly, given our record, it could take him a while to get round them all.

I notice he ran out of time, so you probably couldn’t fill him in on why there’ll be no special schools for him to gallantly keep open, why Walsall social care is woefully inadequate and why so many plots of council land are now up for sale.

Heavens, I bet you hardly had time to fill him in on what the Francis fiasco cost…

    It surely is a wonder.

    Regards,
